What is the Network Map
The Network Map is based on data collected by all Pelican devices about network connectivity.

What is the Network Map used for?
As soon as the Internet light turns solid green on the Pelican GW400 Gateway, the gateway is communicating with the Pelican servers. When both lights are solid green, thermostats and other Pelican devices on the mesh network are able to communicate with the Internet and Pelican servers.
What do the line colors mean?
- Yellow = Low connectivity strength
- Blue = Strong connectivity strength
- Red = Wireless connection is not available
Red lines do not necessarily mean that the devices are not working. This simply means that the device is not connected to the mesh network. This could be caused by an obstruction in the building that is preventing connectivity, the device may not be receiving power, or if using a battery-powered device, the batteries may need to be replaced.
Statistics about the network are accumulated over several hours. Therefore, newly installed thermostats may appear red even though they are functioning correctly. The network statistics just haven’t had enough time to update. Please allow several hours for these statistics to properly reflect the status of a new thermostat.
What do the icons represent?
- Green Dot = The pelican device is connected to the mesh network
- Green Square = The gateway is active and is online
- Red Square = The gateway is not connected to the Internet, is inactive, or is not wirelessly connected to any Pelican device
- Red Dot = The pelican device is not connected to the mesh network
